Cllr Ciaran Morrissey, Newly-elected to the Sunderland City Council
On 6th May, UK went to the polls in the local elections of the decade. Hundreds of national and local seats were contested in Wales, Scotland, and England. The Liberal Democrats made solid gains, taking seats from both the Labour and Conservative parties in England. The party held its position in Wales, and achieved recording vote numbers in Scottish parliamentary constituencies while ultimately moving from 5 to 4 parliamentary seats.
LDBEN members are invited to join the party’s discussion on the successes and the learnings from these elections.
